T-Mobile has just opened a modern data center in Warsaw, with a data transfer speed of 400Gbit/s

During the pandemic, it became clear that data centers are crucial for the functioning of not only the global but also the Polish economy. According to the analytical company PMR, by 2025 the demand for data processing services and collocation may even double. The vast majority of managers and board members (74%) participating in the survey indicated digital transformation, new ways of working and digitization as the most important positive effect of the pandemic. Moreover, this trend applies not only to the largest companies, but also to small and medium-sized businesses, which have to adapt their model to the current realities. To meet the constantly increasing demand for data processing services, T‑Mobile is opening the data center with a colocation area of more than 1700 m2. With the opening of the new facility, the first large business client, representing the financial industry, took over 250 m2 of space and will start using the new infrastructure very soon.

Data processing and data protection services, providing comprehensive and secure ICT technologies are permanently embedded in our DNA. Our transformation, from a telecommunications operator to a comprehensive technology company, would not be possible without the continuous development of cloud technologies and investments in modern data centers. Moving our own resources to the cloud and using agile working model have enabled us to deliver our services even faster. The next step will be full virtualization of our network. Recent years have shown that running a business is no longer possible without constantly investing in new technologies. Therefore, I am very pleased that, as one of the largest cloud service providers in Poland, we can support our partners in rapid digital transformation, building innovation and flexibility in a constantly changing world - said Andreas Maierhofer, CEO of T‑Mobile Polska.

T-Mobile has a network of several centers in Poland. Data Center at Szlachecka street in Warsaw is the next stage of implementing cloud technologies by T‑Mobile. The new object will serve operator, but also his clients - global content providers, international corporations, companies from the banking and insurance sector, as well as smaller companies from the broadly understood SME segment.

We reduce the impact on the environment

The new investment is part of a wide-ranging strategy to reduce the impact the company's operations have on the environment and the declaration to achieve climate neutrality by 2040. All energy supplying our facilities comes from renewable sources, and the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) factor, which defines the proportion of total electricity used to power a data center to electricity consumed by IT devices, equals 1.3. This means that only 30% of the energy is used to maintain additional systems. This puts the new T‑Mobile data center on a par with the most modern facilities of this type.

Data security in the best hands

When implementing the new investment, the greatest emphasis was placed on security: physical, energy, telecommunications as well as those provided as part of cybersecurity services. Placing T‑Mobile data centers in various regions of Poland allows customers to safely share resources in several locations.

T-Mobile, with its network infrastructure and data centers, ensures the construction of systems based on georedundancy in the Disaster Recovery model, ensuring data integrity in the event of failure or lack of access to one of the facilities. All this to ensure that the data is properly secured and ensure business continuity.

Before commercial use, the facility underwent a series of tests carried out by an independent auditing entity, confirming its compliance with the requirements of ANSI / TIA 942 certification and the European and Polish EN-PN 50600 standard.

T-Mobile's competitive advantage is the ability to offer comprehensive services. In addition to cloud solutions, we also find the highest quality broadband data transmission (VPN network, dedicated Internet band, point-to-point connections based on an extensive fiber-optic network, LTE or 5G) and advanced cybersecurity services (Firewall, NGFW, WAF, Anti DDoS, Security Operations Center).

The demand for modern cloud services is growing. More and more companies are starting or are in the process of digital transformation. The most important aspects for them are security, the availability of services and the ability to adapt digital tools to the rapidly changing business environment. In response to these needs, T‑Mobile is launching the modern data center in Warsaw, with Ethernet signal transmission of 400Gbit/s between any locations. That kind of network speed will guarantee adequate bandwidth to external operators and service providers around the world.
