Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and T‑Mobile Poland have activated Europe&rsquo;s first commercial deployment of a&nbsp;cloud-native microservices-based Mobility Management Entity (cMME) node at one of T‑Mobile Poland&rsquo;s data centers in Poland.

As part of T‑Mobile Poland&rsquo;s recent commercial activation, in-service upgrades of microservice applications were demonstrated to provide an agile platform capable of launching new services faster and without service degradation.

New 5G use cases are forecast to contribute more than EUR 10.4 billion in net benefits to Poland&rsquo;s GDP in the coming years, according to a&nbsp;recent <a href="https://www.ericsson.com/en/news/2020/11/5g-action-plan-for-europe" target="blank">report by Analysis Mason and Ericsson</a>.

Petri Pehkonen, CTIO T‑Mobile Poland, says: We are very happy with this initiative completed in a&nbsp;strong cooperation with Ericsson. We see this deliverable as part of our existing service portfolio but also as part of our 5G roadmap in the cloud.

Join 5G on T-Mobile

Right now inhabitants of Warsaw and its vicinity, Ł&oacute;dź, Krak&oacute;w, Poznań, Wrocław, Płock, Opole, Częśtochowa, Rzesz&oacute;w Bielsko-Biała, Kielce nad the Upper Silesia Industrial District have the opportunity to join 5G from T-Mobile. In total, by the end of June this year, the network will cover as many as 6 million people in 46 cities and towns all over Poland!

To connect to the 5G networks it is sufficient to use a 5G enabled device operating on 2100MHz frequency and to be a subscriber of any of the plans for individual customers offered from September 2019 or the MagentaBIZNES tariff. 5G network access in T-Mobile is currently free and in addition in case of MagentaBIZNES plans existing data transmission speed limits will be lifted. Access to 5G technology can also be activated via the My T-Mobile application and will be granted to individual customers when signing a new contract or annex with a 5G device. The operator also points out that the dedicated offers will be created as the development of network progresses, to take full advantage of the growing potential of this new technology.
